There was a lot of drama on Twitter when BoyzIIMen posted

"Just got word we will NOT b on the NKOTBSB tour! Thanx so much for the support!! I guess they "wanted it that way"!! S/O to @NKOTB!!"  (P.S. S/O means shout out)

New Kids fans went berserk hating BSB etc

This tweet increased the hype and had me questioning what the heck was going on and thinking the account was hacked.

"They "QUIT PLAYING GAMES" so thats why We didn't get "THE CALL"! Shouts to the Homie @DonnieWahlberg!"

Then the wicked pranksters posted this

"just having fun guyz! See y'all in "New Joi-Zee!!""

LOL I have no hate for any of the groups and i hope the fans calm down, see through the rubble and realise that everything is cool and get excited for this tour!!!

BoyzIIMen may have been messing around about dissing BSB and they may very well be on the NKOTBSB tour BUT the NJ comment is about their OWN tour happening tomorrow.

A Vampire Musical - With A Backstreet Boy!

Well, former Backstreet Boy. Apparently, this is what he left the band to do.

Writer-director and El Lay virtuoso Ken Roht is taking the vampire-fad to a new level. Sources confirm that he is just near completion on his feature debut, The Bloody Indulgent, A Sexy Vampire Musical.
Oh boy.

Starring in the lead as a vampire with "a substance-abuse problem (on top of drinking human blood, that is)" is BSB's Kevin Richardson.
The movie comes out in summer 2011, which means Kevin will most likely be promoting the film in leu of touring the country with his boys and the New Kids On The Block.

Anyone else think that's a poor decision?

Katy Perry to perform with NKOTBSB at American Music Awards AMA's

Who knows if this one is truth or rumour just yet but this site Beat Crave is reporting the joint performance.

All current tweens and tweens of the past who are fans of magazines such as Teen Beat or Tiger Beat will be bouncing off the walls once they hear this. Katy Perry, one of the most annoying but biggest pop stars of today, will be joining mega-boy bands of the past, NKOTB (New Kids On The Block) andBackstreet Boys, on stage as part of a performance for the American Music Awards.

Whether this makes you want to watch the AMAs more or less, it’s happening and it will probably be ridiculously hilarious. Details after the jump!

According to ThirdAge.com, Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, made the announcement on Monday and he’s very excited about it because, apparently, he said the following statement: “New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about.”

Well, come time for the AMAs or The Grammys, not many of us seem to care anymore. It’s all about marketing these days rather than the talent. Although NOKTB’s “Hangin’ Tough” is definitely a guilty pleasure for a lot of people, these two boy bands of the past were all about hype and teenage girls rather than their ability to put on a credible musical performance. What are we going to do though? We have acts such as Britney Spears who “never claimed to be a singer” but she sure is labeled quite the “entertainer.”

Both boy bands are getting ready to go on a Summer 2011 tour and are hoping that this national televised gig will boost their ticket sales when it’s time to hit the road. This will also be the first time both boy bands will perform on the same stage together. Throw in some Katy Perry wearing a blue wig and a sequined bra in the midst of middle-aged has-been men and we assume (but are sad it’s come to this) the award show’s ratings will also see an increase.

Other acts set to perform on the AMAs this year include Rihanna, Diddy-Dirty Money, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher.

Katy Perry To Share Stage With Boybands NKOTB And Backstreet Boys

Katy Perry is one of the major acts expected to hit the stage at the 2010 American Music Awards show in Los Angeles - and yesterday - we learned that New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys are also booked to perform. Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, made the announcement Monday.

The performance marks the first time both groups will perform on the same stage together for a national televised audience prior to their summer 2011 tour.

"New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about," AMA producer Larry Klein said in a statement.

The boy bands join the previously announced line-up of Rihanna, Diddy-Dirty Money, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher.

The show is to be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE Nov. 21 on ABC.
