If there’s strength in numbers, then the NKOTBSB tour is impressive in manpower alone.
When all nine of the dancing, singing, no-longer-boy band members of New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys were on stage at the same time on Friday at Amway Center, it looked like something close to a teen-pop marching band.
If only ‘N Sync could’ve reunited, there would’ve be enough pop stars to spell out Total Request Live, or some other appropriate pop-culture reference.
Even for a cynic, all that well-aged charisma was magical on Friday, though the crowd that almost filled the arena obviously would’ve been smitten by the time-machine vibe no matter what it sounded like.
To borrow from the combined group’s acronym, the audience looked to be Not Kids Or Teens But Still Believers. On this night, that faith was rewarded.
The ambitious scope of the production was foreshadowed in an epic opener that melded New Kids’ “Single,” Backstreet’s “The One” and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” into a sonic and visual feast.
With all the Backstreet Boys (Nick Carter, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough) on stage with the five New Kids (Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and Donnie Wahlberg), it was a crowd. Still, the choreography was understated, meaning that it only looked slightly like a clinic for male models.
Just kidding.
Actually, both groups looked and sounded impressive in a generous 2-1/2 hour show that unfolded like a battle of the bands, with the groups trading turns in the spotlight.
It was apparent that the New Kids had more of the right stuff, with everything from “Dirty Dancing” to “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” and “Step by Step” eliciting screams that sounded a lot like 1989.
When it came to ballads, McIntyre offered a show-stopping “Please Don’t Go Girl,” which Backstreet countered with the doo-wop-inspired “I’ll Never Break Your Heart,” with the guys joined by ladies from the crowd.
The magic wasn’t quite as potent in Backstreet’s material, but the group had its hometown connection elevate solid versions of “As Long As You Love Me,” “Shape of My Heart,” “I Want It That Way” and other hits.
In another nod to Orlando’s teen-pop roots, the video screen showed a cameo of ‘N Sync’s Joey Fatone in the crowd. Later, that surprise was trumped by a short, superb set by Boyz II Men, joined by the others for “End of the Road.” It was a touch that made the night seem historic.
“It feels so good to be back in Orlando, where it all started for the Backstreet Boys,” said Dorough, who invited his mom on stage.
Opening act Matthew Morrison, known for his Glee role, set the tone for a musical night with a splashy, Vegas-worthy 35 minutes that included dancing, ukulele strumming (!) and fancy footwork in the aptly titled “Don’t Stop Dancing.”
As for the boy-bands, if the grown-up versions can do this, let’s hope they don’t stop either.

After 10 years since the Backstreet Boys performed at the LA Staples Centre with their Black&Blue tour and 5 years since Kevin Richardson departed the group the 5 guys have made a triumphant return as part of their successful NKOTBSB tour.

Kevin Richardson made a very special appearance during I Want It That Way and the finale in which the Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block throw it down Battle Of The Bands style.

Needless to say the LA crowd went absolutely crazy when Kevin began his solo part in I Want It That Way.

As we all know Naughty By Nature made a surprise appearance at the Fenway show and performed Hip Hop Hooray. Story is that they were meant to do a 15 minute show but rain altered those plans so tonight be prepared for a 15 minute set with some O.P.P. no doubt.

The biggest show of their careers has just wrapped up and boy did they hit a home run tonight. OK, i'll spare you the baseball metaphors but wow it was one hell of a show!

With the 9 fellas lining up at home plate and running to the stage for the introductions this outdoor spectacular had it all. Even an introduction from the mayor of Boston and Donnie Wahlberg's own brother Marky Mark (the almost as famous one) couldn't prepare the crowd for the surprise appearance from Naughty By Nature smashing Hip Hop Hooray out of the park (ok sorry, last one I promise) With a "hey" from the Backstreet Boys and a "ho" from the New Kids this once in a lifetime experience left all in attendance with a very special feeling.

The Backstreet Boys worked dance numbers such as “The Call,” “Backstreet’s Back” and “Larger Than Life” as well as ballads including “Incomplete,” “Shape Of My Heart,” and the serenade segement “I’ll Never Break Your Heart,” showcasing excellent harmony work led by A.J. McLean and Nick Carter.

An appearance by Naughty By Nature for “Hip Hop Hooray” sent the show into overdrive, as all of Fenway Park danced in the rain to one of the most memorable hip-hop songs of the ‘90s. It was no surprise when a fan yelled out “I feel like I’m like 13 again!” The entire show mixed nostalgia with a sense of new life for both groups.

That's right kids.....solo time.

Nick is currently in Japan gearing up for the release of his 2nd solo cd "I'm Taking Off", which is released tomorrow February 2nd. Initially the cd will be released just in Japan, although you can order it from Amazon or Nick Carter's solo website http://nickcarter.net/splash.

He has also just struck up a deal with German record company GLOR (thanks to Misha of ALD and TDS for the info). The first single is due to be released April 29th and the album hits shelves May 27th.

His first single in Japan, "Just One Kiss" is climbing the charts and will very possibly be the song he performs live at the Japan Billboard awards held Feb 6th.

NKOTB not as bad as I had insinuated

Last week during a rant about the New Year's holiday, I turned my invective on the musical guests featured on Fox's broadcast. Two such musical guests are the resurging New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys, who I said belonged "in Las Vegas night shows." Many readers called me out on this by pointing out that the two acts were hardly desperate, and that the Backstreet Boys had even been selling out shows. Feeling stupid, I listened to the NKOTB album "Hangin' Tough," the Backstreet Boys' "Millenium," and ‘N Sync's "No Strings Attached" to serve as penance.
It had been a while since I had listened to a boy-band recording (probably the sixth grade) but my music taste has since expanded. I begrudgingly had to admit that these three were pretty good pop albums. New Kids' "The Right Stuff" and the Backstreet Boys' "Larger Than Life" still had it. As much as ‘N Sync's "Bye Bye Bye" doesn't fit my taste, it's easy to understand how it became huge.
So what happened? None of these groups was creatively struggling when it fell out of the public's good graces.
For New Kids on the Block, it was a sudden collapse. The group released its third album, "Step by Step," in 1990 and it went multi-platinum, as expected. By the release of the album's third single, "Let's Try It Again," the group was old news. The single didn't break the Billboard Top 40.
Not helping the New Kids' cause were accusations of lip-synching on stage. Lip-synching is a tough charge for pop acts to shake. More recent history shows how the same accusation shook Britney Spears' career while all-but destroying Ashlee Simpson's. Groups that are entirely comprised of vocalists are already walking a thin line.
The benefit of playing one's own instruments is that it merits a degree of sympathy from the audience. To the blue-collar or day-job maintaining listener, playing an instrument constitutes "work." Vocals, despite the amount of practice put into them, don't get the same credit. That's why any country artist, even the "divas" like Carrie Underwood, can still strum a guitar. Kanye West can put months of work into crafting a beat for his song, but he will often only get credit for what he does on stage.
Aside from musical analysis, it seems that the listening public's taste for boy bands travels in waves. The arguable first wave was during the New Kids era, beginning with New Edition in the ‘80s, a group that featured Bobby Brown. After New Edition split ways with its songwriter, Maurice Starr, he became the producer for New Kids. The era's apex occurred with New Kid's "Hangin' Tough," but then fans lost interest.
The next wave began in 1996 with the release of the Backstreet Boys' self-titled debut. In the next year, both ‘N Sync and 98 Degrees would debut as well. But much like before, the public's desire for boy bands was fickle. ‘N Sync's "Celebrity" was the era's outgoing shot. The group soon split, with Justin Timberlake going solo.
The Backstreet Boys continued releasing albums, but each album's first-week sales have debuted lower on the charts than the last (not failures, but significantly less lustrous than the group's previous sales).
The fall of boy bands wasn't indicative of all pop music, however. Spears, who debuted around the same time as her boy-band counterparts, continued to be as relevant on the charts throughout the following decade, rehab and all.
But now, New Kids and the Backstreet Boys are back on the map. Why? It just seems that listeners are ready for a reemergence. Justin Bieber is a force to be reckoned with on the pop charts, and his formula is not far off that of boy bands. Will it last long? History says no, but for the time being, I must admit that boy bands never really die.

A Vampire Musical - With A Backstreet Boy!

Well, former Backstreet Boy. Apparently, this is what he left the band to do.

Writer-director and El Lay virtuoso Ken Roht is taking the vampire-fad to a new level. Sources confirm that he is just near completion on his feature debut, The Bloody Indulgent, A Sexy Vampire Musical.
Oh boy.

Starring in the lead as a vampire with "a substance-abuse problem (on top of drinking human blood, that is)" is BSB's Kevin Richardson.
The movie comes out in summer 2011, which means Kevin will most likely be promoting the film in leu of touring the country with his boys and the New Kids On The Block.

Anyone else think that's a poor decision?

Who knows if this one is truth or rumour just yet but this site Beat Crave is reporting the joint performance.

All current tweens and tweens of the past who are fans of magazines such as Teen Beat or Tiger Beat will be bouncing off the walls once they hear this. Katy Perry, one of the most annoying but biggest pop stars of today, will be joining mega-boy bands of the past, NKOTB (New Kids On The Block) andBackstreet Boys, on stage as part of a performance for the American Music Awards.
Whether this makes you want to watch the AMAs more or less, it’s happening and it will probably be ridiculously hilarious. Details after the jump!
According to ThirdAge.com, Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, made the announcement on Monday and he’s very excited about it because, apparently, he said the following statement: “New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about.”
Well, come time for the AMAs or The Grammys, not many of us seem to care anymore. It’s all about marketing these days rather than the talent. Although NOKTB’s “Hangin’ Tough” is definitely a guilty pleasure for a lot of people, these two boy bands of the past were all about hype and teenage girls rather than their ability to put on a credible musical performance. What are we going to do though? We have acts such as Britney Spears who “never claimed to be a singer” but she sure is labeled quite the “entertainer.”
Both boy bands are getting ready to go on a Summer 2011 tour and are hoping that this national televised gig will boost their ticket sales when it’s time to hit the road. This will also be the first time both boy bands will perform on the same stage together. Throw in some Katy Perry wearing a blue wig and a sequined bra in the midst of middle-aged has-been men and we assume (but are sad it’s come to this) the award show’s ratings will also see an increase.

Katy Perry To Share Stage With Boybands NKOTB And Backstreet Boys

Katy Perry is one of the major acts expected to hit the stage at the 2010 American Music Awards show in Los Angeles - and yesterday - we learned that New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys are also booked to perform. Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Productions, made the announcement Monday.
The performance marks the first time both groups will perform on the same stage together for a national televised audience prior to their summer 2011 tour.
"New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about," AMA producer Larry Klein said in a statement.
The boy bands join the previously announced line-up of Rihanna, Diddy-Dirty Money, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher.
The show is to be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE Nov. 21 on ABC.

New boyband One Call replaces Backstreet Boys at Jive Records.

Well aint that just a kick in the teeth! After years of Jive not giving a hoot about boybands Backstreet boys finally break free and what happens? they sign a new boyband.

Jive introduces One Call

Pop music fans of the past decade may know Johnny Wright as the very successful manager of *N Sync, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, The Jonas Brothers, and Janet Jackson. Well you know what they say, ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.’ Johnny’s team at Wright Entertainment Group and Jive Records are at it again! Meet the latest boy band/Pop grop, One Call!

One Call’s single, “BlackLight,” dazzles with beats and harmonies that could get any dance floor moving. Four separate voices— AG Gamlieli, Chris Moy, Jose Bordonada and Justin Thorne—color the song with distinct flare, fire and fervor. However, One Call rings loudly with a diverse and daring style. Their forthcoming Jive Records release “BlackLight” pulsates with genuine pop prowess, and One Call won’t ever stop shining.

Legendary music executive Johnny Wright heard that noise loud and clear when he assembled One Call. Wright helped launch The Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and The Jonas Brothers, to name a few. He’s got an ear for talent, and an eye for the future. In 2008, he orchestrated the Bandemonium Tour featuring Menudo and NLT. The stars had already begun to align as Justin was in NLT, and Chris and Jose were members of Menudo. Johnny brought the boys to Florida for their first writing session, and they instantly clicked. I am 90% certain Kevin will be back with the Backstreet Boys and here's why.

So, yes i am joining in the hype of "OMG Kevin's coming back" but it's not just because he appeared on Oprah. it's a whole slew of things.

Firstly when he left, he never said that it was a "forever" thing and the boys straight away said the door's always open and AJ in particular has been quite vocal about wanting Kevin to come back.

In my eyes Kevin left because of Jive and management. Kevin had been quite critical of Jive's decisions from about 2002 onwards.

Making them tour when Brian had his open heart surgery.

Howie having to fly back for a show straight after his sister had died.

I suspect he would have also been upset about AJ having to tour after he got out of rehab the first time.

The constant competition between Nsync and Backstreet Boys. Having Jive sign a copy cat group to cash in on the boyband hype put a lot of pressure on the boys as they constantly had to fight to keep themselves unique and different as Jive/managment gave Nsync the same access to writers, stylists etc. Any opportunities that Backstreet said no to, Nsync were given.

The record company releasing Chapter One: Greatest Hits against the group's wishes

Nick releasing his solo record when the boys were planning for a group one. yes this does tie in with Jive as again they pushed the Backstreet vs Nsync thing by pitting Nick's first solo record "Now or Never" up against Justin Timberlake's first solo record "Justified"

I think the breaking point was the recording of "Never Gone". Jive again seemed to push for the Rock/Pop sound while Kevin wanted to go with the R&B stuff they were recording. I remember Nick and Kevin both saying they had to fight really hard just to get Siberia on the album. Also AJ mentioned during the "This Is Us" promo that it was the direction that Kevin wanted to be going in when he was in the group.

So now with Jive out of the picture and the fact the guys are finally at a point in their career where they do have complete control I think Kevin would really enjoy the group again. I know a lot of fans see that as Kevin just jumping on, now that the guys have done all the work getting free of Jive BUT at the time of Kevin's departure the rest of the group did not seem to be prepared to stand up and fight for control of their careers.

Now to the rumours... there are always comments about Kevin coming back but this year in particular I have noticed a few more statements along the lines of "Kevin is 100% coming back". there was one earlier in the year on a South American Facebook fan page and most recently, just after Oprah, one at JJB Messageboard "I told you guys Kevin would be with them through the BSB/NKOTB tour 2011. Wait to you guys hear what else is going on" I know this is the internet and anyone can make up stuff but back in 2008 when Kevin joined the guys on stage for Shape Of My Heart

there just weren't the same rumours floating around even though it was the perfect opportunity to make things up like that.

So fast forward to now and the talk of Kevin being on the NK / BSB joint tour (which hasn't even been confirmed). We all know Kevin has bad mouthed New Kids On The Block over the years for being a bunch of pretty faces with only 2 that can really sing so of course Kevin wouldn't want to tour with them, right? Well thinking about it, Kevin said that comment in response to the flack BSB were getting about just being "another boyband" AND he often said similar comments about the European boybands. It was more a defensive statement rather than attacking another group. Then there is also this video from 1993 and I have to say it would seem Kevin is a fan.

Also the bad mouthing wasn't all one sided. Danny Wood has said ""Backstreet's records sound the same as before - their music didn't evolve like ours has. They never spoke too highly of us and said if we had talent we'd still be around. They should've probably kept their mouths shut!" among others. Yet they still all got on stage and sang "I Want It That Way" at a new Kids concert so if Danny Wood can do that I can't see Kevin Richardson not being able to.

There have been a few possible other clues too, such as

That 78% figure that Brian answered when being asked about the chances of a BSB / NK tour got me thinking. Was it just a random number? Or was there something more? Well if you take into account that with Kevin obviously being one fifth of the Backstreet Boys, that could be your missing 20% right there. It seemed like a done deal that the concert would go ahead months ago, especially when E! started reporting it.but I'm that it may have been the decision to include Kevin that was holding them back and he needed some time to decide / be convinced. The remaining 2% I would put down to the actual signing of the contract.

In a fairly recent interview Nick and AJ said that the Backstreet Boys have "big plans" for the future that would "turn people's heads" and capture the attention of the public and media. Ok, so they left Jive but that didn't really get the media's or public attention. Of course there was Backstreet Boys joining New Kids on stage, which did get the media and public attention but it was fairly disappointing to the fans to think that could be the big surprise. I believe Kevin coming back fits in with the big surprise and news along with possible collaborations and going to a new label or being independent

A reputable source within fanbase circles has hinted at a Kevin return.

The Oprah show. One thought that straight away sprang into my mind was "why Backstreet?" It's Oprah's last season so every show is massive and there were whispers about there being an announcement on the show. from fan reports nothing seemed to happen about an announcement but I am thinking the boys could have easily taped something privately to be shown during the show.

Brian taking down his tweet "Wow reliving memories. Special occasions with all 5. Its been a long time. Big CHIRP!" It seems a little strange a comment like this would need to be taken down especially since Kevin being at the Oprah show was all over the net by then. What was even stranger was the fact that after Brian took the comment down leighanne posted "Lovin spending time with the BSB just like ole times" and it made me think back to when Leighanne "leaked" the information about the boys leaving Jive and the guys being blackballed by radio stations because of Jive's intervention. Stuff that Brian wanted to say but couldn't because of managemt etc.

Now individually everything can be easily discounted but once everything is added up....well do the math (pun intended).

Kevin Richardson on Oprah with the Backstreet Boys

That's right folks, just as you think we are getting some news related to the rest of the group Kevin decides to pop his head (literally) into a video and send the fans in a frenzy.

Basically all 5 guys were at an airport in Chicago surprising a fan by serenading her with "I'll Never Break Your Heart"

Apparently they will be in studio tomorrow and usually these things air about a week or two after they are filmed.

A few things to weigh up are the fact that this could be a one off thing for Kevin with the boys just to surprise this fan and he is quite busy with films so i don't know if he could rejoin the group permanently BUT having said that....is it just a coincidence that all of a sudden we have a Kevin interview coming up and an appearance on German Popstars? Neither it would seems are to do with him promoting his films but more related to him as a Backstreet Boy.

Also last year Nick said in an interview that the group would be doing something huge that the fans wouldn't expect. At the time I thought it may have been the NK / BSB tour but it could be this. The fact the boys are no longer with Jive as well would also be a reason for Kevin returning as we all know he loved the music and the touring but hated the business.

Don't forget that this is the last season of Oprah so it is bound to be big!

I can hear that collective cheer now....I would assume it will be to talk about "The Casserole Club" although just reading about the radio show it may be more of a broad interview, as it says "With fun and hilarity, we bring the best of Hollywood, Broadway, and Politics to share their stories and reveal how their struggles turned into success stories."

When Brian Littrell and wife Leighannerenewed their vows on September 11, they were not only renewing their love for each other after ten years of marriage, but also celebrating their lives on a day most consider to be a somber anniversary.
Now parents to Baylee, 7, the Backstreet Boy, 35, and his bride, 41, tell all about the celebration and reveal why September 11 is special to them, how they keep their marriage strong and where they see themselves as a couple in ten more years.
Why did you choose to renew your vows?
Brian: I think it’s rededicating one another’s life to each other, and showing that we are for marriage, we are for togetherness, we are for family. I think that signifies a lot of things in today’s world. Me, being a Backstreet Boy, and traveling the world and how people glorify the entertainer’s life … they also like to glorify how things fall apart tragically a lot in our world that we live in. In rededicating our vows to each other, it signifies how in choosing a companion and in choosing to love one in the first place, you want to be able to continue to be able to re-choose them and choose them over and over and find new ways to love them. After ten years and over thirteen years together, we still choose one another. I think that speaks volumes to what our love represents.
Why did you choose September 11?
Brian: It’s funny. We were trying to do it the weekend before, but the Backstreet Boys were wrapping up our Canadian and U.S. leg of the tour – of the This is Us tour. We wanted to have more time to prepare when we got home. It ended up falling on September 11, and what is signified about September 11 is not only were we celebrating our vows and renewing each other, but we were also celebrating life.
My wife Leighanne was scheduled to be on the American Airlines flight that morning out of Boston to California on the morning of September 11. The Backstreet Boys had just performed five sold-out nights at the Fleet Center there in Boston, and we were traveling to Toronto. My wife had scheduled to fly on the American Airlines flight back to L.A.
We as a group lost one of the crew members, a gentleman by the name of Daniel Lee, who was traveling on that same flight to surprise his wife for the birth of their second child. He went into the towers with the plane.
It’s amazing how it all worked out. If I did not have my wife, I wouldn’t be married, I wouldn’t have the life that I have and I wouldn’t have my wonderful baby boy who’s not a baby anymore – he’s going to be eight-years-old.
It’s a celebration of life with how it fell on that day. It’s a meaningful time in our lives. I think we celebrated two anniversaries almost.
Why did you get out of the flight, Leighanne?
Leighanne: The craziest thing was the night before I had this horrible feeling. I told Husband – you weren’t Husband yet, were you? – I told Brian “I feel really, really bad about going. I don’t know what it is.” He was like “Leighanne, you’ve got an audition, you’ve got a dentist appointment, you’ve got all these things to go back for – you just need to go.” And something kept telling me “you can’t go.” I can’t explain the overwhelming feeling in my soul that there was no matter what I couldn’t get on the plane.
I broke down to him and said “I can’t do it.” He goes, “well, God, if you feel that strongly about it, cancel it.” My family and friends thought I was on the flight, so the morning of, we happened to be sleeping in, and our phones were ringing like crazy. We got up in time to see the plane that I was supposed to be on hit the tower.
That’s incredible. What special touches did you have that made the ceremony personal?
Brian: Everything. [laughs]
Leighanne: Husband seems to think that one of the greatest things was our son got to walk down the aisle to celebrate ten years together. We want to celebrate family and celebrate love. Like Husband said, you don’t get enough of that in our industry anymore. Everywhere we go, we make our situation love, life and happiness. We surround ourselves with it. On this occasion, we invited 80 people who are close friends to us who always support marriage and love.
A crazy idea we had had – I was swimming in a pool one day, and I said ‘oh my gosh, Husband, we need to have synchronized swimmers in our pool!’ Because we enjoy our home and our love so much that we love to make things special and make things eventful. Pretty much everything we do, we do with everything we have – with all our hearts and souls. We started planning this fun, crazy party that everyone would enjoy and that would be a surprise to us all.
We started with synchronized swimmers in our pool because we love what old Hollywood represents as far as talent and the real meaning of Hollywood where it was not just about being famous, but it was about what you could bring entertainment-wise.
Brian: And being classic as well.
Leighanne: Yes, the class. Bringing the class back. It was all about class.
Brian: When Leighanne and I were first married, we had a beautiful reception on the whole fourth floor of a top-notch hotel. It was an amazing event, and it was an amazing time in our lives, but I’ll tell you Leighanne and I both, looking back on our ten-year anniversary, we had more fun then than we had at our very own wedding.
It’s cool to be in the situation where – everybody should be in that situation – where they can do whatever they want when it comes to spending time with those that they love. Having the right company there, and having the event and what they want going on. We had a huge, big band – an eight-piece band. It was so cool. All our guests kept saying “it’s like old Hollywood.” Leighanne and I kept being reaffirmed all night that that’s exactly what we wanted from the evening. We had tap dancers, we had a beautiful renewing of our vows. A good friend of mine, Matthew Crouch, his family owns the Trinity Broadcasting Network … he held the ceremony for us. It was cool.
We had the luxury of having our beautiful boy walk down the aisle with us, and signify how two can become one and become better at the same time. But now we’re three.
Leighanne: We had tappers and singers who did a number to Heaven Hop. We had another Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin-style singer, and then we had a dancer. So we had acts in the middle of it all, so it was like being at a Broadway show. When we were eating, we had entertainment. It brought everybody in and made them feel comfortable and not feel intimidated but have a good time. It was important to have people around us and help them enjoy and feel comfortable but also have a good time.
What did you think of the cake?
Leighanne: Our cake was amazing. The gentleman at Classic Cheesecakes, Mark, that did our wedding cake … ever since he did our first cake, he’s done all of our cakes since then. He is amazing. He’s done Baylee’s birthday cakes, our shower cakes, our Christmas cakes. It’s amazing. They taste as good as they look.
What flavor?
Leighanne: They had Bailey’s Irish Cream. They were all pound cakes – vanilla and a Heath Bar.
How did the Heath Bar version taste?
Leighanne: It turned out well. This is the first time he’d done it for a party, so it actually turned out well. My pediatrician loved it. [laughs] He dove right in.
What was the highlight of the evening?
Leighanne: Baylee singing Jackson Five. Baylee got onstage and pretty much stole the show.
Brian: I think the highlight of the evening was the ceremony and the intimate setting of how everything came together, and the whole atmosphere. I think the whole atmosphere about the event set the mood. We had couples who had been married from 55, almost 60 years … the atmosphere and the ceremony was the best for me because I do choose Leighanne and I will choose Leighanne over and over and over. It was great because it was cool. Like all of our family and friends, I can’t wait until our fifteenth or our twentieth when we can do it again because Leighanne can throw a hell of a party, and it was amazing.
How did it feel to have your son on hand this time?
It was great to have him be part of the ceremony. He actually sang a song with the band, which was great. He sang I Want You Back by the Jackson Five, and tore down the house.
The funny thing about it would be the actual reception when we were all in the tent having dinner together, Baylee stands up on stage and he wants to do a few songs. He does I Want You Back as well as Straight Through My Heart from the Backstreet Boys.
The cool thing for me is everybody comes up to me after I do a song I wrote for Leighanne called Ten that talks about our anniversary. It was written for that very moment. But after I got offstage, everyone’s like “that’s a great job, you did amazing, you’re so talented, but that son of yours is out of this world.” I was like “uh-oh, there we go.”
Leighanne: Your song was amazing, too.
Brian: It’s hard to pick one. The atmosphere that we created for the couples and our guests and our family that was here set the tone for an amazing evening. It doesn’t matter what we were doing – we were having an amazing time. Apparently my son stole the show even though it was our anniversary party.
Leighanne and I were going to sing Unforgettable to each other, but it turned out that with preparation and getting ready and putting everything together, it didn’t work out. I didn’t have time. But I will assure you there will be more anniversary parties in the future, so maybe we’ll get an exclusive with OK!
What gifts did you receive?
Leighanne: We asked for no gifts because we have so much, but probably the best thing was people made donations to our Healthy Heart Club for Kids, and liquor. They gave us a lot of liquor. What do you think that says about us? Vodka…
Brian: Wine, wine holders…
What’s the secret to a happy marriage?
Brian: A happy wife is a happy life. [laughs]
Leighanne: Communication. When we can’t be together, we’re always talking on the phone. You have to laugh a lot. When Pastor Collins told us – the pastor who married us – he would’ve been here to marry us again, but he was in Germany – but he told us in the beginning “don’t ever go to bed angry.” You don’t always have to be right. Even if you know you’re right, you don’t have to say you’re right. We always try to practice humility with each other and communication. Always talk and always laugh, because at the end of the day, it wasn’t that important.
Brian: Some of the best advice I got from a close friend is marriage is always looked at from the world as 50/50 as to working together to make that 100 percent. My advice that I can share that’s not my own but was given to me is marriage should be looked at as 100 and 100 so that you’re always giving of yourself, you’re always sharing your thoughts and expanding on what Leighanne was saying about communicating and understanding one another is you have to know yourself first before you can know yourself in a marriage. You have to be so giving of yourself in order to give yourself to someone else, so I think having that 100% – and you don’t always get there. Marriage can be work, it can be difficult, it can be hard, but I think working through those times makes you stronger as a couple and as a unit.
Where do you see yourselves as a couple in ten more years?
Leighanne: If we could be any happier, hopefully not adding on again, but here enjoying life. We had more fun at this party than we did at our wedding. Learning to love life and love each other and knowing what’s important.
So many people don’t value their relationships and their lives, and end up in two or three marriages and miserable. We see each other always improving on our relationship, loving as much as we can and hopefully teaching our son to do the same thing.
He actually got married when he was five because he wanted to be married so bad. His birthday party was a wedding, and believe me, we had a full-on wedding. The pictures are amazing. He married his cousin because [jokes] you can do that in Georgia and Kentucky. It was the coolest thing.
To know that that’s the way he thinks, whatever we’re doing, whether we’re doing children’s album – Baylee has his own career, he’s probably going to be in the arts – working as a family, and Brian’s solo career, always being together – that’s why we homeschool and creating and making positive projects, and hopefully impacting the world in the most positive way we can.
Brian: If it’s possible, I know my wife will be much more gorgeous in ten years. She’s prettier today to me than she ever has been before. Adding on another ten, she will be even more gorgeous.

McLean, and revealed plans to record a new album for release next year. “I try to save electricity by unplugging the phone charger and save water by getting in and out fast when I shower,” said Dorough. BSB's Brian Littrell Asks His Wife To Marry Him - Again!

Kind of a cute way to celebrate 10 years together, we think!
Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys decided the best way to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary was to have he and his wife, Leighanne Wallace, do it all over again!
With their six-year-old son Baylee as best man, Brian arranged an old Hollywood-esque ceremony at his place in HOTlanta. The elegant ceremony was topped off by a serenade from Brian to his wife and a crazy fireworks display.
When asked why he wanted to renew their wedding vows, Brian explains:
"It's a different kind of love that we share now being together for so long - being parents, husband and wife, and also mommy and daddy. It's a different dynamic to our relationship, and I think it makes us better as people; makes us better not only for our son, but for each other as well - as lovers, as friends."
Aww, that was so cheesy!
Congrats on 10 years of bliss! Here's hoping for 10 more!

It's been years since Singstar and the like have been out and i knew it was only a matter of time before Backstreet Boys were to feature and finally here they are in Singstar Dance. Credit to www.gamefocus.ca for the article and picture.

With Dance Central, Just Dance 2 and the return of DanceDanceRevolution (did I forget one?), some folks will be busting moves this Fall. We already knew that Sony was bringing Singstar Dance to the Playstation 3 but up until now, there was no information whatsoever on the game. We knew that you could use Playstation Move to dance and sing but that was it.

There's fireworks in the sky, synchronized swimmers in the pool, and of course, romance in the air as Brian Littrell of theBackstreet Boys marries his wife again on their tenth wedding anniversary -- and ET has the exclusive invite.
"Hey, ET. Welcome to our tenth anniversary," the grown-up boy band star says. "I'm Brian. This is my wife Leighanne. And we are going to get married again."
"Will you marry me again?" he asks his wife during the intimate ceremony.
"I'll think about it," she jokes, voice trembling with emotion.
Just after they met, coronary disease forced Brian to undergo open-heart surgery. And nearly two years ago, their now 7-year-old son Baylee was hospitalized for inflamed arteries.
So, on this renewal of their vows -- at Brian's 40-acre estate outside Atlanta -- there is indeed much to celebrate.

The following night we had a completely different show, The Backstreet Boys, at PNC Pavilion. I have to admit, years ago I was a huge Backstreet Boys fan! I never did get to see them in concert until this night! While I’m not particularly into their music anymore, I think several thousand other people my age who attended the show that night can agree that it was a surreal experience to see the boys still at it that night! The place was packed! A pleasant surprise to all of us here at PNC Pavilion. The Backstreet Boys came out and opened with “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and the crowd went wild! It was a great and nostalgic night for everyone at PNC Pavilion that night! I love that we had such a diverse season this year, and that there was definitely something for everyone, even the now grown up boy band fans!

Recently the Backstreet Boys have been getting some publicity from contestants, such as X Factor's Jedward, singing their songs. Well here is another from a Jamaican shows called "Digicel Rising Stars" and i think this is the best one yet. A young man at 16, Dalton Harris sings "I Want It That Way"

Dalton is in the final 2 this week. Will he make it all the way?

2010 has been the single worst year in the history of pop music.
I know you’re thinking that this idea sounds extreme, but after all, pop music has always sucked. At its heart, it’s nothing more than unambitious, easy-to-digest music that most listeners of mainstream pop readily accept.
But here’s my problem.
Pop music is a lot worse now than it has ever been before.
Think back 10 years when artists such as N’Sync, Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, all of whom released several memorable hits, ruled the pop music landscape.
Even if “I Want It That Way” and “Bye Bye Bye” weren’t particularly deep or meaningful tracks, they did their job. They were catchy pop songs that sounded great blasting from the radio, and for the most part, this still holds true day.
Unfortunately, today’s pop musicians aren’t interested in creating memorable music. They only wish to create soulless trash with over-sexualized lyrics that will sound good on a dance floor. If hipsters ironically end up liking it, that’s also a plus.
Take Ke$ha for example, the girl can’t sing a note in tune and all of her lyrics refer to getting drunk and hooking up with a random guy at the club. But somehow Ke$ha has scored five dreadful top 10 hits in the past 12 months.
You’d think pop listeners would demand more substance, or at least vocalists who don’t sound like drunken sorority girls, but apparently not. The listening standards of the American public are significantly low.
Equally loathsome is Katy Perry, whose awful single, “California Gurls,” ended up being the smash hit of this summer. Between desecrating a perfectly good Beach Boys song and having the most generic self-exploitative lyrics imaginable, the track is a three-minute crime against music.
Finally, there’s Taio Cruz, whose radio smash “Dynamite” might be the single most banal song ever recorded. In it, he tells us that he’s “got big plans, plans, plans, plans,” and that he’s “wearing all [his] favorite brands, brands, brands, brands.”
Apparently, if you can’t think of a way to finish a lyric, it’s perfectly okay to say the same word over and over again.
Now, I guess I’ll have to finish this column, column, column, column.
Perry, Ke$ha and Cruz aren’t the only purveyors of this putrid pop.
Just last year, faux-emo bros 3OH!3 instructed females to “do the Helen Keller and talk with yo’ hips.” I’m not an uptight person and I don’t mind some crude jokes in pop music, but that sort of blatant misogyny fails to be witty or charming by any standard. It’s idiotic and unnecessary.
The trend of generic, hyper-sexualized crap-pop started in 2005 when the Black Eyed Peas unleashed “My Humps” on an unsuspecting public. The song was shallow and pointless beyond belief, but America sent it to No. 3 on the charts.
That set the precedent that pop stars don’t have to try in order to have a hit. As a result, the pop scene has gotten worse every year since.
Thus far, 2010 looks like the boiling point. And if the pop songs of 2011 are even worse, I won’t be surprised. For every Lady Gaga or Kanye West who actually wants to create lasting pop music, there’s a thousand more who just want a hit ringtone.
I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I actually think that 2010 is getting better with the pop music than previous years but pop music just aint what it used to be. I've also noticed MANY similarities between the boys music and other artists today. Whether it be the music or the lyrics or portions thereof.
